From 1970 to 2011, The Nancy Meehan Dance Company presented home seasons at the Riverside Church, New York University, Schimmel Center for the Arts, Marymount College and at what eventually became the company’s home for New York Seasons, presenting work there for twenty-seven years, Danspace Project at St. Mark’s-Church-in-the Bowery, one of New York’s premier downtown dance venues.
The company also made appearances at the New York Festival at the Delacorte Theater, the American Dance Festival where Nancy Meehan also taught for six summers, and performances and workshops in the United States and Canada. In 1988, Ms. Meehan presented a solo concert at the International Spirit of Design Forum in Asahikawa, Japan.
As well, Ms. Meehan’s archives have been accepted by the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The Company also supports the work and annual presentations of former company members who use the studio for creation.
Going forward, one of the goals for the company is to support Nancy Meehan’s legacy through the continued teaching of her technique. Classes are held Monday nights from 6:15 - 7:30 and are taught by long-time company member Patty Bryan.
